The following hands
are listed from strongest to weakest, beating the hands below them.
Royal Flush
No other hand can beat
this. It consists of Ace through 10 all of the same suit. It is
extremely rare; in fact, many pros have never seen one at a table
they were at ever in their career.
    
Straight Flush
A straight flush can
consist of any straight, but must be of the same suit.
    
Four Of A Kind
Any four of a kind
beats everything below this level, i.e. 2222 beats an Ace high
straight.

Full House
Full Houses consist of
3 of a kind and and two pair. They are usually the biggest hands
you'll see on a regular basis. They don't come all the time, but
typically when the pots get big, its between a full house and a
flush.
    
Flush
A flush is any
combination of 5 cards of the same suit.
    
Straight
Any 5 set of cards
that follow the next highest card. For instance, 2,3,4,5,6 or 9, 10,
J, Q, K or A, 2, 3, 4, 5. They can be of any suit.
    
Three Of A Kind
Any 3 of a kind card,
i.e. three A's, three 2's, etc. They are also called a "set."
  
Two Pair
Any hand that you make
two pair, i.e. two 6's and two 7's for instance.
   
One Pair
Any two matching cards
is two pair.
 
High Card
High Card usually
means nobody hit the board, and whoever has the highest card in
their hand wins (generally, unless its a split pot).
